Content editing

MANUSCRIPT EVALUATION:

I read the entire manuscript and provide an editorial report. The report addresses the successes and challenges of the work, questions that arise while reading, and the macro features of a book (structure, clarity, theme development, voice, etc). I include a recommendation for next steps.

MANUSCRIPT DEVELOPMENT EVALUATION:

Like the Evaluation but with the understanding that the work is in progress. Provides guidance for the developing novel.

DEVELOPMENTAL EDIT:

A developmental edit includes everything in the Manuscript Evaluation, then also provides two rounds of feedback and guidance on revisions.

Starts at $750.00 (Discounted if the author proceeds with a Developmental Edit after a Manuscript Evaluation)

BOOK GUIDANCE EDIT:

Like a Developmental Edit but intended for an incomplete first draft. The goal is building the first draft. Includes everything in the Manuscript Development Evaluation, then also provide two rounds of feedback and guidance on the developing novel.

Starts at $500.00 (Discounted if the author proceeds with a Book Guide Edit after a Manuscript Development Evaluation.)

Language Editing

LINE EDITING:

I edit each sentence and make changes to address wordiness, unintentional shifts in tone and diction, word choice, transitions, and other issues at the language level.

Cost 1 cent/word

COPYEDITING:

I provide a close read of your work to address grammar, punctuation, spelling, inconsistencies, and fact-checking. Unlike with line editing, at the copyediting stage, I don’t fix or improve style, but simply ensure your language is polished and consistent.
